The unique magnetic rings are made to mount the mic on almost any metal surface, or simply set it on flat surfaces for non-magnetic applications. Since they are angled, you can easily choose whether the mic faces up or down. These rings also reduce handling noise, working with a durable, non-resonant plastic shell and rubber-wrapped capsules to eliminate as much vibration as possible.

What devices does the ONE LAV USB Type-C work with?

The ONE LAV USB Type-C plugs straight into any device with a USB-C port and is recognised as a standard microphone — no app, no drivers, no setup. That includes:

iPhone 15 and newer, and most Android phones
iPad Pro / Air and USB-C tablets
Mac and Windows computers

For an older phone with a Lightning port you will just need a USB-C to Lightning adapter.

Is this good for field recording?

Yes. It features an ultra-sensitive capsule that provides great sensitivity and a very wide frequency response (20 Hz - >30 kHz). This makes it excellent for field recording, especially for capturing highly detailed textures, quiet nature sounds, or ambient soundscapes.

What does true stereo mean in practice?

Most clip-on mics record mono - a single channel copied to both ears. ONE LAV records separate left and right channels simultaneously, so playback feels three-dimensional and present, the way you actually heard the moment.

Do I need drivers, an app or an adapter?

No. ONE LAV USB Type-C is class-compliant, so your phone or computer recognises it as a standard USB microphone the moment you plug it in — nothing to install. Just select it as your input in whatever app you record with.
