Common questions

One Lav FAQ

Still have a question? We reply within 24 hours.

Ask us directly
What devices does the ONE LAV Jack 3.5 work with?

The ONE LAV Jack 3.5 works with most gear that has a standard 3.5 mm TRS microphone input. You can plug it directly into:

  • Cameras
  • Portable audio recorders (like Zoom or Tascam)
  • Wireless transmitters (like the DJI Mic, Rode Wireless GO, or Sennheiser).

Keep in mind that not all devices support stereo input, so you should check your equipment first. For example, if you connect it to a Rode Wireless GO transmitter, the two separate channels of the ONE LAV will be summed to mono due to the design of the device.

What does true stereo mean in practice?

Most clip-on mics record mono - a single channel copied to both ears. ONE LAV records separate left and right channels simultaneously, so playback feels three-dimensional and present, the way you actually heard the moment.

Is this good for field recording?

Yes. It features an ultra-sensitive capsule that provides great sensitivity and a very wide frequency response (20 Hz - >30 kHz). This makes it excellent for field recording, especially for capturing highly detailed textures, quiet nature sounds, or ambient soundscapes.

Why isn't my laptop recognizing the mic?

Most modern laptops use a combined audio jack (TRRS) designed for headsets. The ONE LAV 3.5 uses a professional TRS connector, which is the standard for cameras and audio recorders. Because of this difference, your laptop won't recognize the mic on its own. To connect it to your laptop, you will just need a simple TRS to TRRS adapter.
